80% Denali:

15% SLT:

5% SLE (Aka the trim level I was looking for)

Kinja'd!!!

I guess people don't want base model SUVs? Or GMC dealers want the plebs that want SLE Yukons to screw off to the Chevy dealer for a Tahoe.

Then again, I see more Denali versions of any GMC than I do base models, so it would make sense to keep inventory of those high.

You're already spending an insane amount of money on an SUV that you probably don't need, why not go all out and refinance the house?

I'd bet 95% of the Denalis are leased. There's no way people are making $1,000 car payments.

Depending on if you and your spouse work full time, that isn't that bad... For instance, for a UPS driver, that is less than one weeks pay.

That's how much my parents pay monthly for my whole 2,000 sq ft house! I don't think they've ever had a car payment over $600.

Well considering the Denali cost as much as a decent house in certain areas(not even bad areas), that payment is about right lol.

Lots of people make even bigger car payments than that.

That's about median income or a little less for most of the country I think. I'm just a dumb grease monkey and I make way more than that.

And that's absolutely ludicrous to me. I don't even think the payment for my dad's Silverado was over $600. I can't imagine paying that much for something most people get rid of in 5 years time.

My Dad used to pull in 1600 on a bad week as a UPS driver, during the holidays it would sometimes be over 2k. Plus the benefits WERE some of the best in the country.

I kind of agree. But these days an income of $8-15k per month isn't really a ton of money and that would easily pay for just about any car payment. I know it sounds like a lot, but there are tons of people making that and more.

Definitely not a bad income.

Since when is $8k a month not "a ton of money" shit, my family's more broke than I thought.

Until the company doctor tells you your back pain is just a sprain and that you have a low pain tolerance, only to find out later it is 7 herniated disks...

Oh it's way more than my parents ever made combined. My perspective may be a bit skewed, I live in a fairly expensive city in a fairly expensive state (that isn't MY or CA). My city happens to have tons of high paying tech and corporate jobs, as well as successful entrepreneurs. And I work for Mercedes. So yeah, I see the higher end of things. But I do also know there are still tons of people who don't make that kind of money. Hell, I don't. Look at real estate listings for a few major cities, find a decent and popular neighborhood, I bet you find lots of home prices between $250-500k. You can't really afford those on less than 100k/year. Lots of people making that much do exist.

That's some kind of bullshit. Always get a second opinion, especially when the first one is from the company "doctor".

I mean, I don't live anywhere fancy, just an average suburb of St. Louis. When dad wasn't on disability he rode the roller coaster that is the auto industry doing maintenance on lines at a GM supplier. Mom does policy stuff for a company that insures high-end stuff. We're pretty blue collar by a lot of standards. The nuclear family basically.

I'm just glad to say we aren't struggling like we were when my dad was laid off for a year and a half.

Dealers order what they make money on. Most people who want to spend the money on a GMC, want the nicer ones.

I'm convinced that's how I got such a good deal on my '06 Sierra, nobody else but me wanted a base model Sierra. I did, because I was broke, and I hate the look of the angry eyes Silverado front end, so I was able to scoop it up at a huge discount. I was out the door with taxes and an extended warranty, for less than $22k.

You're so misinformed it hurts, now sure if you live in Greenwich, CT like I do than $8k-$15k per month doesn't seem like that much. But the truth is most Americans in fact make under $18k a year, actually only 15% of Americans make over $60k a year. It's all about where you live, and therefore your perspective.

Plus $1,000 per month for anything other than a Range Rover or a 911 is pretty outrageous. I only pay $870 for my 991 911 and to think of spending more on a Yukon is crazy.

Yeah, you're not the only one. Sometimes people leave bank statements in their cars when traded in, current checking account balance 140k, or 3.2 million. Of course we shred those, but it's hard not to look. Usually those aren't even crazy expensive cars, just average things.

You'd be surprised. Younger guys here have all kinds of high dollar silverados that are blinged out and lifted. No way they are leased. It's called being an oil field worker and roughnecking for your overpriced truck.
